There is a spiritual practice called, "detached awareness". Deepak Chopra speaks about this in his video, "The Ultimate Happiness Prescription." Which I recently re-watched and (as usual) it got me thinking...
If its true what some religions, mystics and philosophers say regarding spirit contracts and karma; being that we choose our destiny, our parents, and basically our whole life here on earth before we incarnate, based on the lessons we need to learn, then can we truly learn these lessons while practicing detached awareness?
If these things we agreed to, are happening around us, but at the same time we are practicing detached awareness; then what do we take away from the experience, if we are not attached to it?
If we are in fact free from any emotional or chemical response and we basically do not become invested in the situation and instead we just observe it, then could this effect our ability to learn from it?
Well if you're anything like me, then let's hope the answer is no, because I'm about as detached as I can get, but I'm definitely ready to finish up these so-called "contracts", so I can get off this reincarnation merry-go-round asap.
